Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an elementary school in Milwaukee, WI. This position offers a contract role to cover a leave of absence, providing critical speech and language therapy services to students during this period.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary-aged children
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents
- Provide direct therapy services through individual and group sessions
- Collaborate with educators and other support staff to integrate speech goals into classroom activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary educational planning
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility to practice as a School SLP in Wisconsin
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and intervention strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt treatment plans to meet individual student needs within a school setting
