Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for a specialized student services school located in Hartford, CT. This role supports students ages 5 to 22 with severe disabilities whose needs exceed those met in their home districts. The contract runs from August 21, 2025, through June 13, 2026, with the possibility to continue into the summer for Extended School Year (ESY) services. This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly supportive, multidisciplinary environment across multiple campus buildings serving elementary through vocational-age students. Key Responsibilities: Provide speech and language therapy services to students with complex communication needs, primarily those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and various physical and behavioral challenges. Collaborate with a clinical treatment team including social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Implement individualized treatment plans and utilize evidence-based interventions to support functional communication, addressing challenges such as non-verbal communication, behavioral aggression, and stimming. Work closely with 1:1 paraeducators and other team members to deliver consistent and intensive support. Document progress and communicate effectively with families, educational staff, and district representatives. Qualifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required. Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children and young adults (ages 5-22) with severe disabilities. Proven ability to manage complex caseloads involving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related behavioral and communication challenges. Strong teamwork and communication skills for collaboration in a multidisciplinary setting. Working Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. School year contract with ESY option.
