School-Based Physical Therapist Job Summary:

• Job Type: Full-time, part-time will also be considered
• Schedule: MondayFriday
• Location: Onsite in public schools across Spanaway, Washington
• Caseload: K12 students, with assignments based on experience and district need

School-Based Physical Therapist Job Qualifications:

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Active or pending Washington State PT license
• Department of Education credential (if applicable)
• Experience in a school or pediatric therapy setting preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available)
• New graduates are welcome and will be supported

School-Based Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations of students' gross motor skills, balance, strength, mobility, and posture within the school setting
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 accommodation plans specific to physical therapy needs
• Deliver direct PT services to students one-on-one or in small groups
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and school staff to ensure safe, accessible participation in classroom activities
• Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment logs, and ensure IDEA and state compliance
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences
• Educate staff on safe transfer techniques, mobility assistance, and use of adaptive equipment
• Recommend and assist with classroom accessibility modifications and use of mobility devices
• Stay current on school-based physical therapy best practices and pediatric rehabilitation strategies
