A K-12 educational setting in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide specialized support to students with cognitive disabilities for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers 32.5 hours per week, working onsite to enhance the academic, social, and functional independence of students aged 8 to 22 who require tailored therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) recommendations
- Support students in a vibrant and secure school environment that includes accessible playgrounds, a sensory garden, community outings, vocational training, and adaptive physical education
- Collaborate with educational staff to integrate supported curricula in reading, math, science, social science, and technology that address functional and transition goals
- Utilize evidence-based practices to foster the highest level of student independence and success in daily activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state regulations and school policies
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapy License
- Experience working within healthcare and school-based OT settings, preferably with K-12 populations
- Strong knowledge of cognitive disabilities and strategies for enhancing functional and academic outcomes
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
