Job Description
A K-12 school in Pine Bush, NY is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team on a contract basis for the 2024-2025 school year. This opportunity arises from the recent loss of a full-time SLP, creating an immediate need to support students with diverse speech and language challenges across all grade levels.
Qualified candidates must hold a valid New York State SLP license and TSSLD certification. Experience in pediatric healthcare and school settings, including familiarity with New Yorks educational and healthcare systems, is highly valued. Candidates with prior teletherapy experience will be favored, though onsite candidates are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students across K-12 grades
- Provide individual and small group therapy tailored to a variety of disabilities
- Collaborate and consult regularly with teachers and parents to optimize student progress
- Maintain detailed progress records and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified SLP (CCC) with pediatric and school-based experience
- Valid New York State SLP license and TSSLD certification required
- Familiarity with New York State educational systems and regulations
- Previous teletherapy experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage evaluations, therapy, and consultations effectively
