This opportunity is for a Speech Language Pathologist working on-site within K-12 schools located in the Danville and Ridgeway, VA areas. The position involves supporting students from pre-K through 12th grade, providing direct services and comprehensive speech therapy interventions. The assignment is a contract role for the new school year, offering a consistent 37.5-hour workweek.
Responsibilities include delivering individualized speech therapy, conducting screenings and assessments, managing caseloads, and collaborating on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You will work alongside Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) who will support therapy sessions, enhancing service delivery. The position involves servicing 1 to 3 schools, with most assignments concentrated at one or two locations, allowing for focused and effective care.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience in school-based speech therapy, serving a broad age range from early childhood to high school students
- Ability to conduct speech screenings, evaluations, and develop treatment plans
- Skilled in IEP development and case management
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with educators, families, and support staff
