Job Description
Assist students in the development of knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciation, and attitudes that promote their growth.
Provide an educational program within the classroom and assist in other school programs as required by district policy.
Demonstrate effective planning and preparation for instruction through knowledge of therapy area and communication development.
Establish learning targets, goals, objectives, and program goals.
Demonstrate knowledge of regulations and resources.
Plan and evaluate the therapy program, including assessments for learning.
Create an environment conducive to learning by fostering respect and rapport.
Organize time effectively and manage clear procedures.
Establish standards of conduct and organize physical space.
Respond to referrals and develop/implement treatment plans.
Communicate with families and collect information/writing detailed reports.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in service delivery.
Reflect on practice and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians.
Maintain an effective data system and participate in professional learning communities.
Grow and develop professionally while showing professionalism.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Audiology.
Current physical certification indicating capability of performing job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
Possess English language skills for effective communication.
Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of professional responsibilities.
Appropriate Illinois State Board of Education Certification (PEL) with SLPN Endorsement; Pre-K through Age 22.
