This opportunity involves working as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in a K-12 school setting located in Danville, VA. You will provide on-site direct speech therapy services, conduct screenings and testing, manage cases, and participate in IEP meetings. Your caseload will consist of students ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. You will be assigned to one to three schools, typically working in one or two locations. You will collaborate with Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) who will support therapy sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy services to students across preK-12 grade levels
- Conduct assessments, screening, and testing to identify student needs
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and meetings
- Manage caseload effectively and maintain timely documentation
- Collaborate with SLPAs and school staff to support student progress
Qualifications:
- Valid license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, assessment tools, and therapy techniques
- Ability to manage caseload and communicate effectively with students, families, and school teams
