Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide essential school-based therapy services across three elementary school sites within driving distance in West Lafayette, IN. This full-time contract position offers a chance to impact young learners' development by supporting their occupational therapy needs during the upcoming school year, starting May 22nd. Key Responsibilities: Conduct student evaluations to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services in compliance with IDEA and Section 504 regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals pertaining to occupational therapy. Provide direct and consultative OT services in individual, small group, or classroom settings using evidence-based interventions. Collaborate effectively with educators, parents, administrators, and related service providers to enhance student inclusion and progress. Address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, ADLs, and assistive technology needs. Maintain thorough and timely documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and service logs. Participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and multidisciplinary evaluations. Offer training and resources to staff and families to promote supportive learning environments. Assist in adapting materials and environments to ensure accessibility and participation. Qualifications and Experience: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Indiana state licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR). Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). School-based experience is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to travel reliably between multiple school sites. Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based therapy best practices. Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage diverse caseloads and prioritize effectively. Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory integration techniques. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
