Elementary School Occupational Therapist

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time occupational therapy position is available, serving elementary students across three school sites within driving distance of Lafayette, IN. This contract role begins May 22nd and follows the traditional school year calendar. Key responsibilities include evaluating students for occupational therapy eligibility under IDEA and Section 504 guidelines, developing and implementing IEP goals related to OT, and delivering direct and consultative services. The therapist will work with individuals, small groups, or classrooms to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, activities of daily living, and assistive technology needs. Collaboration with educators, parents, administrators, and other service providers is essential to support student progress and inclusion. Additional duties involve maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings, providing training and resources for school staff and families, and adapting materials or environments to improve student participation. Qualifications: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current Indiana state licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) NBCOT certification School-based experience is preferred but not required Ability to travel between multiple school sites Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based therapeutic best practices Skills and Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Effective caseload management and task prioritization Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory integration methods Independent and team-oriented work style Culturally responsive, student-centered approach This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational experiences through skilled occupational therapy.
