Occupational Therapist School Setting in Surprise, AZ

A K-12 school in Sun City, AZ is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive support to students under a contract position for the current school year. This full-time role involves working 40 hours per week within an active educational environment dedicated to facilitating student growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students occupational therapy needs
• Interpret results and evaluation data to inform intervention strategies
• Evaluate students functional abilities and challenges in the school setting
• Communicate findings and progress with the IEP team and parents
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans tailored to students specific requirements
• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to support student participation and achievement
• Collaborate with teachers and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to support related activities when assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with relevant credentials
• Experience working with K-12 student populations preferred
• Strong knowledge of educational therapy assessments and IEP/504 plans
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to document and manage caseload efficiently
