Are you a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for helping children and adolescents thrive in their educational journey? Kennedy Krieger Institute is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist I to join our dynamic Special Education team and make a lasting impact in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.

Exciting opportunity to work with a team of supportive SLPs. Work with elementary, high school, and transitional students (up to 21 years old) with complex communication needs and significant behavioral challenges. Many AAC/AT learning opportunities. Students earn certificates of completion as they work to develop functional life skills in this collaborative and specialized interdisciplinary setting. Opportunities for growth and leadership.

What Youll Do:

As an SLP-I, youll play a vital role in supporting students with communication challenges by:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments in speech, language, oral motor, and feeding/swallowing.
  • Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans aligned with each students IEP.
  • Delivering services in diverse settings including pull-out, classroom, and co-teaching formats .
  • Collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure educational benefit .
  • Maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with MSDE, ASHA, and departmental standards .
  • Participating in team meetings, staff development, and community outreach .
What You Bring:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Maryland State Licensure (or eligibility).
  • Experience working with children with communication disorders.
Physical & Professional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift/carry students and adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a school setting with potential exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills .
  • Commitment to professional development and service excellence .
