POSITION DETAILSThe Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Physical Therapist position to provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students with disabilities as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Work hours are expected to be 8 am - 4:30 pm. This career opportunity is an 8-hour/day, 10 months/year, exempt-management position with paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, and a health benefits package.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEEducation:

Bachelor's/Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Therapy or a closely related field. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is desirable. Must have a valid/current license with the Physical Therapy Board of California. Maintenance of this license is a condition of continued employment.

Experience: Minimum of one year of successful service in the field of Physical Therapy, preferably working with elementary school-aged children with moderate to severe physical disabilities. Knowledge of Special Education Codes and health and welfare regulations governing student safety and treatments.Physical therapy interventions for children include: Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Sensory Integration (SI), Principles of neurology, anatomy, neuroanatomy, kinesiology, and physiology. Proficiency in conducting accurate developmental and functional assessments. Ability to generate clear, professional written reports for IEP and educational documentation. Effective setup and maintenance of therapy tools and adaptive equipment.

Other:License: Valid/current license with the Physical Therapy Board of California. A CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency within three months of hire.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES

This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The recruitment process may consist of a training and experience evaluation and/or a structured oral interview.

To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies.

Dates of InterviewsThe date(s) of interviews will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email and/or telephone of the time, date, and place of theexamination(s) or interview(s).
