Stone Ridge is seeking an Upper School Assistant Dean of Academics to begin in August 2026. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. With over 780 students, and rooted in the Goals of Sacred Heart education, Stone Ridge inspires young women to lead and serve , through lives of purpose that integrate faith, intellect, community, social action, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom. The Upper School Dean of Academics is responsible for providing student support in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education and will: manage the details of the master schedule for Upper School partner closely with the Assistant Head of School to monitor academic progress of students Coordinate progress reports with Upper School faculty work closely with Student Support staff members to continue to provide strong support services to students. Collaborate with the School Registrar and academic department chairs on course placement and coordination placement tests The desired candidate: has experience leading teams demonstrates knowledge of pedagogy and instruction as well as flexibility and strong organization skills. works well with and enjoys high school aged students has experience working with different levels of leadership in an independent school setting. will teach two courses in a discipline matching their area of expertise. Requirements: Degree in Education or related field (MA Degree strongly preferred) experience in independent, charter, public and/or Catholic schools Experience in a classroom setting, or in an administrative role focused on pedagogy and curriculum development.
