Job Description
The Bath County Public School Board is seeking a Superintendent to lead the school division in a student-centered academic program that focuses on the relationships between talented students and capable, caring teachers.
The mission of Bath County Schools is to cultivate a culture of rigor and high expectations, empowering students to think critically and work collaboratively. Through innovative instructional practices and a relevant curriculum, we strive to develop leaders who are prepared to navigate the ever-changing world. Together, we will inspire a lifelong love of learning and create a brighter future for our community.
Candidates must meet the legal requirements to be licensed or be eligible for licensure as a Superintendent in Virginia.
Central office administration and school principal leadership experience are preferred.
A doctorate degree or progress toward a doctorate degree is preferred.
A successful candidate will be required to live in Bath County within one year of contract negotiations.
Applications are due by 5pm on May 19, 2026.
The tentative timeline for the Superintendent Search is as follows:
May 6 - May 19, 2026 - Advertisement and acceptance of applications for Superintendent
May 19, 2026 - 6pm- Special School Board Meeting for received Superintendent applications and development of interview questions
TBD - Superintendent interviews
TBD - Special School Board Meeting for approval of Superintendent and announcement
