DESCRIPTION
Anticipated, Elementary Literacy Coach
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Elementary Literacy Coach will provide support to K–5 teachers, strengthening literacy instruction through coaching, modeling, and professional learning aligned to Board Approved curriculum and the Science of Reading. The coach will work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to improve instructional practices and student outcomes in literacy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: Reading Specialist Certification
- Demonstrated expertise in Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading
- Successful teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual/Multilingual
- Master’s degree in Literacy, Reading or related field preferred.
- Proven experience with Coaching, professional development, or teacher leadership.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any
applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27 SY is Step 1 BA/BS ($68,023) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
