REPORTS TO: Principal PAY GRADE: 5 / $75,095.28 - $104,981.52

ROLE AND PURPOSE:

Assist the Principal in providing instructional leadership and campus management to ensure high-quality teaching

and learning aligned with the Superintendent's vision and district goals. The Associate Principal supports the

development and implementation of systems that promote academic achievement, positive school culture, and

continuous improvement. This role is responsible for assisting in the supervision, coaching, and evaluation of staff;

supporting student well-being and discipline systems; and ensuring effective day-to-day campus operations. The

Associate Principal models strong instructional leadership by regularly engaging in classrooms, supporting teachers

through coaching and feedback, and reinforcing consistent expectations for instruction and student outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Measurement and

Evaluation, or related field preferred.

  • Texas principal or administrator certification preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices that promote student achievement
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and use data to inform instructional decisions
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners
  • Knowledge of effective supervision, coaching, and evaluation practices
  • Ability to support teacher development and improve instructional quality
  • Knowledge of school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and compliance requirements
  • Commitment to equitable access to high-quality instruction for all students
  • Proficiency in using technology tools to support instruction and campus operations
  • Bilingual skills preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

I. Instructional Leadership

  • Assist the Principal in implementing a rigorous instructional program aligned with state standards

and district curriculum

  • Support the monitoring of instructional quality through classroom observations, walkthroughs, and

feedback cycles

  • Provide coaching and support to teachers to improve instructional practice and student outcomes
  • Analyze student achievement data and assist in developing targeted instructional strategies
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the campus improvement plan
  • Reinforce consistent expectations for instruction across classrooms

II. Staff Development and Evaluation

  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, induction, and retention of high-quality staff
  • Support the teacher appraisal and evaluation process in accordance with district guidelines
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional learning opportunities for staff
  • Facilitate or support professional learning communities (PLCs) and staff development initiatives
  • Help ensure alignment between teacher performance expectations and student outcomes

III. School Culture and Climate

  • Support the development and maintenance of a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment
  • Assist in implementing student behavior management systems and promoting student engagement
  • Address student discipline issues in accordance with district policies and student code of conduct
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, respect, and high expectations among staff and students

IV. Operational Leadership

  • Assist in managing campus operations, including scheduling, supervision, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies and procedures
  • Support systems for attendance, discipline, and student services
  • Coordinate assigned campus programs and operational functions

V. Family and Community Engagement

  • Assist in building and maintaining partnerships with families and community organizations
  • Communicate school programs, expectations, and progress to stakeholders
  • Support campus events and initiatives that encourage family and community involvement

VI. Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and evaluating assigned instructional and support staff in accordance with

district policies

  • Provide direction and support to ensure effective performance and professional growth

VII. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending,

pushing/pulling, and twisting.

  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional

reaching.

  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
  • Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged

hours.

  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
  • Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
  • Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities
  • Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of

public education and in support of the District's Mission Statement
