PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:
Assist the school principal in the overall administration of the instructional program and operations at the campus level. Provide support and training for teachers, staff, and parents to address ad manage children with challenging behaviors. Coordinate assigned activities and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university and valid Texas mid-management or
other appropriate Texas Certificate
Certified instructional supervisor and appraiser
Valid Texas teaching certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Thorough understanding of school administrative operations
Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting and implementation
Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years experience as a classroom teacher
Two years experience in participatory leadership role
