Waldorf University , located in Forest City IA, is seeking interested and qualified candidates to join the Office of Student Life team for the position of Campus Nurse. The Campus Nurse provides primary healthcare services, minor injury and illness care, adminstrative health record managment, and wellness support for students while promoting a healthy campus environment. This role works closely with Student Life, Athletic Training, Athletics, Residence Life, faculty and staff, and local healthcare providers to support student wellbeing and coordinate care. We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable healthcare professional who enjoys working with college students and understands the challenges young adults may face while living away from home. The ideal candidate is intuitive, approachable, team-oriented, flexible, able to build trust with students while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries, and willing to step in where needed to support the campus community. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health assessments, treatment, and triage for student illnesses and injuries
  • Maintain confidential electronic health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Develop relationships and coordinate referrals with local clinics, hospitals, and healthcare providers
  • Support student health insurance review and accessibility
  • Collaborate with Athletics regarding student-athlete health needs
  • Assist with campus emergency response and wellness initiatives
  • Provide health education, CPR/First Aid training, and wellness programming
  • Participate in orientation, student engagement, and campus outreach activities
Qualifications
  • Current Iowa RN license required, BSN preferred
  • 25 years of clinical experience in student health, ambulatory care, emergency care, or related setting
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while building strong relationships with students and staff
Work Environment This position primarily works in an office setting with mobility across campus as needed, including residence halls and athletic facilities. Occasional evening or weekend flexibility may be required. Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of public health and wellness education
  • Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
Benefits : This is a full-time benefit eligible position. Waldorf University offers a comprehensive benefit package including health, life, LTD, 401k match and tuition benefits for employees and their families, in addition to options in dental, vision, supplemental and voluntary life insurances and FLEX spending plans. Compensation range of $53,000-61,000.
