The Lonoke Public School District Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Superintendent. The Board would like to have the successful candidate in the position on July 1, 2026. Our successful candidate must be student focused, value-driven and a community leader with the background, skills, experience and knowledge essential to lead our district into the future. The Board has identified the following core leadership qualities and priorities as essential for success:
LEADERSHIP STYLE
Transparent and open communication.
Willing to collaborate, delegate authority and solicit input.
Steady under criticism and confidently makes a final decision.
Leads through respect and persuasion.
STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL COMPETENCE
Fiscal responsibility, using funds wisely and manages a tight budget.
Proven skills in resource management and personnel decisions.
Manage multiple priorities effectively.
RELATIONSHIPS
Engage comfortably with all ages, listens well and builds relationships.
Keeps Board members, staff, parents and community informed across multiple sources.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Outside of the box thinker; always looking for ways to improve teaching and learning performances.
Centers decision making on improving teaching and learning for the kids.
OTHER EXPECTATIONS
Previous Superintendent experience preferred.
Candidates must be licensed or able to be licensed with an Arkansas Licensure.
Pass all background checks.
Maltreatment check is required.
SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
Lonoke School District is located in a growing area and houses the only agricultural-based Business Academy in the state. Multiple university and business partnerships have been formed to create exceptional opportunities for students in the district and region. The district has two schools approved by the DESE as Schools of Innovation, and Lonoke High School has received designation as a School of Innovation for its Envision, Capstone, and school-to-work initiatives. Lonoke is strategically located 20 miles east of Little Rock, off of Interstate 40.
GENERAL
The Lonoke Public School District desires to be among the very best in the state and region, and for it to be known and recognized for outstanding education, fiscal success, student-centered education services, and innovative strategies in K-12 education. The successful applicant will be expected to devote his or her undiminished energies and efforts toward these goals.
