Job Description
Occupational Therapist with Brockton Public Schools who will provide quality school-based occupational therapy services, which includes but is not limited to assessment/evaluation, intervention/treatment, IEP planning and implementation, discharge planning, related documentation, and communication between teachers, teacher assistants, related service providers, and families.
Responsibilities include:
Knowledge of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, and evidence based practice
Knowledge in Sensory Integration theory and practices
Ability to recognize and treat performance deficits in the areas of activities of daily living, student roles, sensory processing skills, executive functions, and written communication
Skill in gathering screening and evaluation data, completing checklists, histories, and interviews
Skill in effective oral and written communication
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and progress notes while maintaining compliance
Completion of thorough evaluation, including muscle tone, range of motion/mobility, sensory processing, visual motor and perception, fine motor, executive functions, and functional activities of daily living
Develop and implement IEPs to meet the individual needs of the child
Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education courses as required.
