School Counselor

Incarnate Word Academy is seeking a compassionate, student centered, and mission driven High School Guidance Counselor to join our school community. The ideal candidate will support the academic, social emotional, and college/career development of young women in a Catholic college preparatory environment.

The counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, administration, and the Care Team to foster student growth and well being while supporting the mission and values of Incarnate Word Academy.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as an academic, social-emotional, and college counselor for an assigned caseload of students
• Teach grade level guidance class
• Serve as a House Dean
• Assist with standardized testing coordination
• Facilitate small group and large group student programming
• Assist with counseling department events and initiatives
• Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality in accordance with professional standards and school policies
• Foster positive relationships with students and families while supporting a welcoming and inclusive school environment
• Support and uphold the Catholic mission and core beliefs of Incarnate Word Academy

Qualifications

• Masters degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
• Missouri counseling certification preferred
• LPC or LCSW preferred
• Secondary school experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Commitment to working collaboratively within a Catholic school community
