Registered Nurse (RN) - School Nurse

The Glen Rose School District is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff while helping ensure students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

QualificationsCurrent Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) licenseCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationKnowledge of student health procedures, medication administration, and emergency response protocolsAbility to maintain confidentiality and comply with state and federal regulationsStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, physicians, and community agenciesSchool nursing experience preferred, but not requiredPrimary Responsibilities

The School Nurse shall:

Provide nursing care and health services for students and staffAssess student health needs and respond appropriately to illness, injury, and emergenciesAdminister medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policyMaintain accurate student health records and required documentationMonitor immunization compliance and other state-required health recordsCommunicate with parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health concernsAssist with the development and implementation of student health plans as neededPromote a safe and healthy school environmentAssist with health screenings and required state reportingSupport attendance and student wellness initiativesMaintain confidentiality regarding student and staff medical informationParticipate in crisis response and emergency preparedness effortsPerform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designeeDesired Characteristics
