About the Role
The Maintenance Technician at Montessori Academy supports campus facilities across our Idaho locations. In this role, you will help ensure that school buildings, grounds, equipment, and shared spaces remain clean, safe, functional, and well-maintained for students, staff, and families.
This position is ideal for someone who is resourceful, hands-on, and proactive in identifying and resolving facility needs. You will handle routine maintenance, coordinate with vendors, support campus events, and respond to facility-related issues with professionalism and flexibility.
You will also:
Support and maintain school facilities, buildings, grounds, equipment, cleaning supplies, and fixed assets
Complete handyman-type repairs, painting, patching, and other routine maintenance tasks
Contact vendors, gather quotes for specialized repairs, and submit estimates for approval
Work with vendors and oversee contractors as needed
Monitor service visits for HVAC, elevator, fire systems, and other building systems
Assist with periodic daily cleaning of bathrooms throughout the day
Support school events by helping with equipment, setup, and facility needs
Coordinate and issue building keys
Monitor facility and grounds-related security concerns
Partner with the supervisor on long-term facilities planning and campus upkeep
Assist with CapEx requests by identifying needs, obtaining quotes, and helping prioritize projects
Run facilities errands and assist nearby campuses as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided
Respond to emergencies involving the building or school grounds, including after-hours maintenance, pipe bursts, flooding, snowstorm cleanup, de-icing, and other facility-related incidents
Perform other duties as assigned
What Were Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of experience in a maintenance, facilities, or related role preferred
Experience in a school or similarly sized environment preferred
Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, BMS, burglar alarms, fire systems, and sprinklers preferred
Valid fingerprint clearance and/or applicable state background check required
Ability to travel by personal vehicle to run errands and support nearby campuses as needed
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment, take ownership of work, and remain flexible when priorities shift
Positive, professional, and service-oriented approach
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking and standing

Frequent speaking and listening with staff, students, parents, and vendors
Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
Occasional use of a computer keyboard and mouse
Frequent carrying and lifting of 1025 pounds, with occasional carrying and lifting of 20100 pounds
May be exposed to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, moisture, dryness, germs, blood-borne pathogens, and other environmental conditions
Occasional use of gloves, safety glasses, and other protective equipment may be required
