Dover Public Schools is a progressive, culturally diverse school district in Morris County serving approximately 3,600 students, Pre-K through grade 12. Dover Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the position of an Anticipated Director of Special Services. This 12-month position will oversee the successful operation of the special education program (Pre-K 12).

Qualifications:
Valid NJ School Principal Certification
Knowledge of special education compliance requirements as outlined in the NJ Administrative Code
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong ability to organize and multitask
Prior Administrative & Supervisory experience required
Job Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
Supervise and evaluate the effectiveness of the district's special education programs, curriculum, instructional materials, and school services.
Assist with the preparation and administration of the related accounts in the school budget.
Provide leadership and guidance for special education curriculum planning, coordination, and evaluation.
Coordinate and supervise activities of child study team members, speech-language specialists, other special services personnel, and related services including external programs and out-of-district placements to ensure compliance in the areas of evaluations, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and the effective implementation of programs and services for students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
Identify priorities for program improvement based upon the analysis of data and achievement indicators.
Participate in the selection and recommendation for adoption of all textbooks, supplementary instructional materials, and delivery systems involving special education.
Serve as a primary point of contact for parent of students receiving special education.Work in cooperation with the leadership of the Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG).
Be a positive liaison with professional, civic, volunteer, community agencies, and other groups having interest in the programs.
Supervise and evaluate instructional and non-instructional staff.

Salary Range:
$125,163 - $165,663
