Lyon College is seeking a Dean of Students to provide visionary leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of student life, ensuring a transformative student development experience grounded in the tenets of a liberal arts education. The Dean of Students will strategically integrate curricular and co-curricular programs to foster a culture of honor and prepare students for lives of service. This position oversees Residence Life, the Health and Wellness Department, Student Involvement, Greek Life, the Student Activities Council, Student Accountability and Well-being, the Chaplain's Office, and the Lyon Education and Adventure Program. Reporting to senior College leadership, the Dean of Students serves as a chief advocate for students, a collaborative partner across academic affairs and athletics, and a leader in student success, retention, compliance, assessment, crisis response, and campus engagement. The appointment is full-time, annual, twelve-month, staff/exempt, with a desired start date of August 1, 2026. The salary range is $90,000 to $110,000 depending on a candidate's experience and qualifications. Qualifications: A master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Services, Counseling, or a related field is required; a doctorate is preferred. Candidates must have at least seven years of increasing professional responsibility in higher education student life, demonstrated experience managing complex student conduct systems and conflict resolution, and in-depth knowledge of Title IX regulations and federal compliance mandates. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of administrative leadership at a residential liberal arts institution, experience in institutional assessment and evidence-based decision-making, and a proven ability to lead campus-wide initiatives related to student success and retention. Experience with residential or living-learning communities is also helpful. Why Lyon?
