Length of Work Year 2026-2027 School Year Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Golden Eagle Charter School is seeking a .60FTE reading teacher/specialist to work one-on-one and in small groups teaching reading and supporting independent study parents in teaching reading. For the right person, this job may be combined into a full-time position with the addition of working as a collaborative Educational Facilitator/Class Teacher to support students primarily through our Independent Study (IS) program. This position will primarily be based in North County (Yreka), with the possibility of working in South County (Mt. Shasta) depending on program needs. Educational Facilitators serve as the primary teacher and advisor for a caseload of students, supporting individualized learning plans and monitoring academic progress through regular meetings with students and families. While the primary focus is supporting Independent Study studentsparticularly at the high school levelcaseloads may include younger students as well. Depending on program needs and areas of expertise, the position may also include teaching classes in person or online. Golden Eagle Charter School operates under a flex-based learning model that combines independent study, teacher-led classes, and personalized learning pathways. Responsibilities The Educational Facilitator develops and manages individualized learning plans for assigned students in accordance with California independent study requirements. The EF meets regularly with students and parents or guardians to review progress, provide academic guidance, and support student success. The EF monitors assignments and assessments, maintains required documentation, and ensures compliance with school and state independent study policies. The EF collaborates with staff to coordinate instruction, interventions, and student supports. The position also includes advising students and families regarding course selection, graduation requirements, and educational opportunities available through the school.
