School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Amherst, Massachusetts

Provide expert support in a dynamic setting dedicated to helping high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences develop skills for greater independence. This contract opportunity spans from July 6, 2026, through August 7, 2026, with potential for extension into the following school year. The position is based at a specialized program focused on individualized education and support in a non-traditional learning environment.

Ideal candidates will bring strong experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services, especially in a high school context. You will work closely with a committed educational team to foster communication growth and independence for each student in the program.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Valid state licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • At least one year of experience providing speech-language pathology services in a school setting
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and delivering AAC services for students with complex communication needs
  • Prior experience supporting high school students with ASD or similar learning differences preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy services according to student IEPs, emphasizing functional communication and independence
  • Incorporate AAC technology and strategies into therapy sessions as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and families to create comprehensive support plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings
  • Provide expertise and training on AAC use for staff and families as appropriate

Additional Details:

  • Part-time schedule: 15-20 hours/week, 2-3 days per week
  • Work within a collaborative, student-centered program making a meaningful impact
