Registered Nurse School Setting in Big Lake, MN

Embrace an impactful role as a school-based Registered Nurse providing dedicated 1:1 support for a medically fragile student. This contract opportunity involves working onsite for 38 hours per week, utilizing your expertise in pediatric and tracheostomy care. You will partner closely with the school team to ensure a safe, compassionate, and well-coordinated environment that allows your student to access their education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized nursing care for a student with a trach, vent, G-J tube, ostomy bag, and oxygen tank, who is wheelchair-bound
• Monitoring and changing the ostomy bag as needed throughout the school day
• Administering continuous feedings via G-J tube and managing respiratory needs, including neb treatments
• Recognizing and responding to seizure activity, administering nasal medication if warranted
• Managing adrenal insufficiency and executing care plans for complex conditions
• Maintaining accurate records, collaborating with classroom staff, and communicating with families and healthcare providers

Required qualifications:

• Current, active Minnesota RN license
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care
• Background in pediatric or school nursing strongly preferred
