This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse student population on-site, within an urban district, for the 2026-2027 school year. Youll collaborate closely with educators, families, and other support staff to improve outcomes and promote the success of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid MI School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification (required).
- Official university transcripts will be needed prior to district presentation.
- Previous experience in school psychology or related agency work preferred.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by urban students and their families.
- Familiarity with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations.
- Strong communication skills; able to clearly share recommendations with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Must be willing to work onsiteremote positions are not available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to determine eligibility for special education services.
- Collaborate with school teams on early identification, intervention, and behavioral supports.
- Interpret and communicate assessment findings to parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with special education law and best practices.
- Support consistent implementation of special education policies and procedures district-wide.
- Take an active role in helping staff and families access resources appropriate for urban learners.
