School Psychologist in Lapeer, MI

Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students across an urban district, as part of a team dedicated to academic and emotional growth. This contract role, available for the 2026-2027 school year (August 17 - June 11), offers the opportunity to work onsite with diverse learners who have mild to moderate disabilities. With a caseload of approximately 60 students, you'll collaborate with educators, families, and staff to promote success for every child.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification is required
• Official university transcripts must be submitted prior to placement consideration
• Previous school psychology or related agency experience preferred
• In-depth understanding of the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations
• Comfort and experience working in an urban school setting
• Ability to navigate conversations on the unique challenges and resources relevant to urban youth and families

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional evaluation to determine special education eligibility
• Collaborate in developing early identification and intervention strategies for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges
• Facilitate clear communication of psychological findings with parents, teachers, and administrators to support shared understanding and effective planning
• Ensure consistent implementation of special education policies and procedures across all assigned sites
• Participate regularly in team meetings, professional development, and in-service training to maintain best practices
• Contribute in cross-disciplinary teams with ongoing collaboration and support
• Perform additional relevant duties as needed
