Foxborough Regional Charter School District (FRCS) is a unique and diverse school serving students from across Southeastern Massachusetts. Approximately 1500 students and families come from urban and suburban communities and represent various backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences. Job Summary:

We are seeking our next Middle School Assistant Principal at Foxborough Regional Charter School who shares our unwavering belief that education is a civil right and that every child can learn. The Assistant Principal supports the school's mission by working collaboratively with the Principal, staff, students, families, and community partners to foster a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment. This role includes key responsibilities in instructional leadership, staff supervision, culture and discipline, administrative and operational leadership, family engagement, and collaboration with labor representatives and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Instructional Leadership

  • Support the Principal in implementing the FRCS instructional vision, including culturally responsive instructional practices.
  • Serve as an active member of the district Teaching and Learning Team and the school Instructional Leadership Team, contributing to curriculum development, instructional planning, and the integration of data-informed strategies.
  • Analyze student achievement and behavioral data to support student success and drive instructional improvement.
  • Collaborate with student services staff and other interventionists to design and implement academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Participate in planning and facilitating recruitment strategies and hiring processes for instructional staff.
  • Interview and recommend educator candidates for open positions, ensuring equity and alignment with school needs and culture.
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and induction of new staff.

Staff Supervision and Development

  • Supervise, evaluate, and support instructional and non-instructional staff to ensure high-quality performance and continuous professional growth.
  • Lead and coordinate ongoing professional development that aligns with school improvement goals and staff needs.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to enhance instructional practices and student learning.
  • Collaborate regularly with the school's educator collective bargaining unit, the FRCSTA, maintaining a professional and constructive working relationship.
  • Assist in resolving staff concerns in alignment with contractual obligations and school policies.

School Culture and Systems

  • Support oversight of student behavior and discipline systems to promote a safe, respectful, and restorative school climate.
  • Assist with the implementation and enforcement of school-wide behavior expectations, discipline procedures, and student support plans.
  • Support the development and maintenance of systems of tiered intervention for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.

Administrative and Operational Leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the school Administrative Team, contributing to strategic planning, goal setting, and day-to-day leadership.
  • Oversee school policies, procedures, and compliance with district and state guidelines.
  • Ensure student safety through supervision, emergency planning, and monitoring of building operations.
  • Assist in resource allocation, scheduling, and managing the daily logistics of school operations.
  • Assist with state, district, and school-wide testing processes and data analysis.
  • Serve as Principal in the Principal's absence.

Family and Community Engagement

  • Foster strong partnerships with families and community stakeholders to support student learning and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding school initiatives, policies, and student performance.
  • Coordinate and attend school events, including performances, celebrations, and parent engagement nights.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal to support the school's success and the community's needs.

  • Regular attendance is essential; absences should be rare and aligned with district attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching or administrative experience.
  • SEI Endorsement or willing to earn within one year
  • Understanding of adolescent development and social-emotional needs
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional practices, school operations, and student discipline.
  • Experience working with students & families of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Candidates are subject to background checks, including CORI clearance and fingerprinting.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.
  • Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in educational leadership or a related field.
  • Current certification from the Massachusetts Department of Education as a School Principal/Assistant Principal 5-12.
  • Familiarity with the FRCSTA Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or labor-management collaboration.
  • Experience working in an urban school district.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages reflects our diverse student population.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

The majority of work is performed in a school or classroom environment, which usually has a moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The employee is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry.
