Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disordersDevelop and implement tailored therapy programs aligned with individual needs and goalsCollaborate with educators, healthcare providers, families, and caregivers to coordinate care plansProvide direct speech therapy services to pediatric populations in school or clinical settingsMonitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordinglyEducate patients and their families on techniques to support ongoing communication developmentMaintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards

Experience

Prior school experience working with children in educational settings is highly preferredDemonstrated expertise in pediatrics and early intervention programsStrong knowledge of speech therapy techniques across various communication disordersFamiliarity with physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathologyProven ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plansPassion for patient care with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approachKnowledge of current best practices in speech therapy and early childhood development

Evaluation report completion within required timelines.SOAP note completion timeliness and quality.Billing accuracy and weekly invoice submission.Attendance documentation and compliance (no-show/late cancellations).Caregiver education and home-program carryover implementation.Interdisciplinary coordination participation (including OT co-treatments when appropriate).Responsiveness to email/Signal communication.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.Current New Mexico SLP license required.ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or eligibility pathway for CF-SLP).Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.Experience with AAC, pediatric language disorders, and caregiver coaching preferred.
