Responsibilities

Conduct patient assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using standardized tools and clinical observationsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, focusing on early intervention strategies for pediatric clientsDeliver engaging therapy sessions across various settings such as schools, clinics, or community programs with a focus on pediatricsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, physicians, and occupational therapists to ensure holistic patient careMaintain accurate documentation of patient progress, session notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory standardsParticipate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapyAssist in patient education by providing families and caregivers with strategies to support communication development at home

Skills

Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirableStrong understanding of speech therapy techniques and early intervention practices for childrenKnowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production and swallowing processesProficiency in conducting comprehensive patient assessments and interpreting results accuratelyFamiliarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathologyExcellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and familiesPassion for patient care with a proactive approach to supporting children's developmental milestones
