Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Active state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting is highly beneficial
- Strong assessment, intervention, and counseling skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of current special education laws and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments for students referred for special services
- Interpret assessment results and present clear findings to staff and families
- Provide individual and group counseling or interventions aimed at fostering student emotional and academic growth
- Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support progress monitoring
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop effective classroom strategies and behavioral interventions
- Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide recommendations for positive behavioral supports
- Maintain detailed, confidential documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Stay current on best practices and areas of professional growth relevant to school psychology
