West Hartford Public Schools seeks to fill the position of a School Counselor (1.0 FTE) at Sedgwick Middle School.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as a member of the school counseling team, and collaborates regularly with school administration, Pupil Personnel Services, teachers, familes, outside agencies, and other stakeholders to aid in the overall success of students in grades 6-8
  • Case manages 504 plans on caseload
  • Plans and implements the School Counseling Curriculum
  • Engages in professional learning experiences to continually update knowledge and skills
  • Uses data to document the success of strategies and interventions that are implemented to improve student performance
  • Identifies at-risk students and collaborates with teachers and other professional staff to create appropriate interventions and recommendations
  • Maintains student schedules, ensuring students are on track for graduation
  • Other duties as determined by the School Counseling Department Supervisor and administration

Valid CT Certification (068) is required.
