Speech/Language Pathologist (Short-Term)
Job Summary
This position is located at Juliette Low School of the Arts. This temporary short-term position will begin on 08/19/25 and is scheduled through 11/01/25 (54 days). There is a possibility that this temporary contract could be extended through 01/05/26.
This position will follow the teacher hours and calendar for the 2025/26 school year (Monday - Friday) through 11/01/25. Work schedule is subject to change anytime at the District's discretion.
DEFINITION
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Services, School Principal, and/or Designee provides specialized speech and language services and assistance for children who qualify for services as established by State standards; participates in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs); provides speech and language therapy for individualized and/or group of students; Performs other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
To apply for the position of Speech/Language Pathologist you must meet one (1) of the minimum requirements below:
- Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential w/Language, Speech & Hearing authorization
- Eligibility for Variable Term Waiver (VTW): Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology,
Communicative Disorder or closely aligned field, or hold a Multiple Subject or Education Special
Credential AND enrollment in a California or out-of-state program
- Verification Letter from the University stating program completion date of the Services Credential
w/Language, Speech & Hearing authorization
In addition to the requirements above, you must complete the EdJoin application and upload the following documents:
Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts will be required upon employment)
Credential Copy (Detailed document from CTC [must show authorization] OR Verification Letter from the University stating program completion date [if applicable])
Letter of Introduction (Addressed to: Dr. David Appling)
Letter(s) of Recommendation (Signed Letters Required - No more than 3)
Resume
Test Results/Materials (CBEST/BSR [if applicable])
Comments and Other Information
SALARY
-Salary is dependent upon Degree(s), number of semester units beyond a Bachelor's Degree, CA Credential, and previous experience;
-Speech Pathologists that work full-time and an extended eight (8) hour day shall receive an annual
stipend of $5,408. Speech Pathologists working less than full-time shall receive a prorate share of
the stipend if they work an extended eight (8) hour day;
-CERT Salary Schedule: magnoliasd/apps/pages/hr-salary-schedules;
-Additional salary increases are earned for longevity with MSD;
-Additional salary steps can be credited for experience for each full year of hospital, clinical and/or school experience while possessing the required credential and/or license;
-Certificated staff are paid monthly on an 11-month pay schedule (August-June).
