Educational Technology Specialists Jobs
An Educational Technology Specialist in school administration is responsible for integrating technology into the school curriculum and enhancing the learning experience for students. They are expected to provide technical support and training to the faculty and administrative staff, facilitate the use of digital resources, and implement new technological tools for educational purposes. Overseeing the smooth operation of the school's computer network, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring internet safety for students are some of their significant tasks.
Important skills for an Educational Technology Specialist include technical proficiency, problem-solving, communication, and pedagogical expertise. They should be familiar with various educational software, online platforms, and learning management systems. In terms of certifications, a bachelor's degree in education, computer science, or a related field is a prerequisite. Further, they could have certifications such as the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) or the Google for Education Certified Trainer. Before becoming an Educational Technology Specialist, an individual might have worked as a Teacher, a School IT Support staff member, or a Technology Coordinator.
