Position: Elementary School Social Worker for 2026-2027 School Year
Location: Monroe School/Troy School/Mount View Elementary School

Position Summary:
RSU 3 is seeking a compassionate, student-centered School Social Worker to join our innovative and collaborative team for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, certified position focused on supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, staff, and community partners to remove barriers to learning and promote student well-being.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide individual and small-group therapy to support students' social-emotional and behavioral needs
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students requiring additional support
  • Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and special education staff to create effective student support systems
  • Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community agencies/resources
  • Support attendance improvement efforts and family engagement initiatives
  • Assist in crisis prevention, intervention, and response planning
  • Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS/RTI, and student support team meetings as appropriate
  • Promote a positive school climate through restorative, trauma-informed, and equity-centered practices
  • Maintain confidential student records and documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Valid Maine Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field required
  • Experience working with adolescents in a school or clinical setting is preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, mental health supports, and student intervention systems
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting the success of all learners
