Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a dynamic 1.0 FTE School Social Worker to join the team at West Middle School for the 26-27 school year.
Job Summary:
The School Social Worker plays a key role in promoting student success by addressing social, emotional, behavioral and environmental factors that impact learning. This position involves providing direct special education services to students, resources and support for families, participation in student support and special education teams and fostering strong home-school-community partnerships. Additional duties include facilitation of 504 services in the assigned building including referral review, evaluation and accommodation plans, participation on student support teams for intervention planning, problem solving and data collection.
Qualifications:
Current MN teaching license as School Social Worker
Bachelors degree in Social Work required
Masters degree in Social Work preferred
Must be trained in NVCI - District may provide training
Experience in Special Education and in school settings preferred
