Step into a vital support role assisting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment near Plano, TX. This full-time contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, working on-site (no virtual options) with a dedicated team committed to making a difference. The assignment involves 37.5 hours per week, focusing on therapy services within a regional program designed specifically for DHH studentsfrom early elementary through high school.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Texas SLP license required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or DHHT certification needed
- Previous experience working in school-based or pediatric SLP roles preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and school multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially within collaborative therapy models
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in the DHH program
- Collaborate with two other SLPs to manage a caseload of approximately 130 students, focusing on therapy delivery
- Participate in planning and implementation of student-specific goals
- Contribute to comprehensive educational and therapeutic support, adjusting strategies for each students needs
- Complete necessary documentation and progress reporting in a timely manner
- Engage actively with families, educators, and other specialists to maximize student outcomes
Special Notes:
- Fingerprinting clearance through the Texas Education Agency is required prior to starting; plan accordingly for processing time if not recently completed in another public school district.
