Description:The Speech and Language Pathologist provides direct service to students through specially designed instruction that supports the personal, social, and academic goals outlined in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). This role includes the development of IEP programming, as well as the evaluation of speech and language skills to inform instruction and services.The Speech and Language Pathologist works collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and other stakeholders, engaging in ongoing collaboration and consultation to support student progress. Services are delivered through an educational lens, with a focus on targeting speech and language development in ways that promote access, participation, and growth within the classroom environment.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Communication/Speech LanguageCertification as a Speech and Language PathologistApplicants will be subjected to a criminal background check as required by law. (RSA 189:13-a)Licensure/Certification Requirements: State of NH Certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist and/or ASHA CertificationRequired Skills: - Promote the learning and growth of all students by/through: providing high-quality specially designed instruction. instructional practices that establish high expectations and create a safe and effective classroom environment. developing IEPs rooted in skill development, data collection, and successful transition outcomes. ethical, skilled, and collaborative professional practices.- Expertise in the field of special education, diagnostic evaluation, and speech and language service delivery models- Flexibility and high adaptation skills- Organization and communication skillsOther Preferred Skills and Considerations:- Experience with competency-based education and assessment- Experience with specialized populations - students requiring Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), neurodiverse students, and/or students with social-emotional needsGeneral Responsibilities: 1. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals using data-driven progress updates.2. Assess, screen, and evaluate students, communicating results to families and staff.3. Provide specialized instruction and support teachers in curriculum differentiation.4. Collaborate with staff and families to implement interventions and accommodations.5. Maintain therapeutic schedules and reinforce positive student behavior.6. Engage in professional development and uphold school policies and procedures.7. Attend meetings, including IEPs, parent conferences, and faculty training sessions.
