Summary The Office of Campus Enrollment at Saint Leo University has an open position for an Admissions Counselor. The counselor will perform routine and non-routine duties outlined below requiring high proficiency for work with prospective students and parents. This position reports to the Director of Campus Enrollment. Job Description Responsibilities Serve as the university liaison for domestic high school and transfer students through strong communication, follow up, and strategically scheduled visits to targeted college fairs and high schools. Represents the university to the general public through scheduled presentations at the university, secondary schools, community/junior colleges, and college fairs. Manage a designated geographic territory with goals for applications, admits, deposits and enrolled students. Travel to important territory events throughout the year. Organizes on-campus and off-campus recruitment activities in a selected geographical area. Provide marketing materials and customer service to students, parents and high school counselors with the goal of enhancing recruitment efforts. Serve as the university's marketer, recruiter, educator and problem solver for prospective students and parents. Participate in information sessions, open houses, and other recruitment and yield events. Develops and gives audience-appropriate presentations to university visitors and prospective students. Assists the VP in writing content for e-communications and admissions literature. Provide communication and documentation of regular conversations, emails, and texts with students and parents. Meet weekly goals for contacting and communicating with students. Review prospective student applications for admission and merit scholarship consideration. Work closely with operations staff to expedite application processing. Assist senior management with research and development of territory marketing strategy and implement approved plans in coordination with the Director of Campus Enrollment. Assist the Director as well as VP of Campus Enrollment with other duties that will benefit the growth and development of the incoming class quantity and academic profile. Complete other miscellaneous assigned duties that arise during the course of the annual college admissions cycle. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Willingness to travel extensively during certain periods of the year, particularly September through October and March through April. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends at certain times of the year. Must own a vehicle for transportation and have a valid driver's license and passport. Must have a clean credit record in order to utilize University procurement cards. Superior public relations, customer service and cultural sensitivity skills, as well as public speaking skills. Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products and web applications required. Demonstrated writing and editing accomplishments. Ability to serve as part of a team and demonstrate a proven ability to establish priorities and work independently. Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely in a relatively unstructured environment.
