Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year, working closely with high school students in a highly supportive environment. This position is centered within a specialized program that empowers students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other learning differences to master skills for greater independence. You will play a pivotal role in shaping individualized education paths by providing expert speech and language services and mentoring a dedicated SLPA.
Ideal candidates bring a blend of passion for school-based speech-language services, strong collaboration skills, and experience (or desire) to work with neurodiverse adolescents in a tailored, non-traditional educational setting. The assignment runs from late August to late June, with an estimated 32.5 hours per week, at a specialized high school program designed to deliver exceptional support.
What were looking for:
- Active state licensure and credentials meeting all regulatory requirements for SLPs
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience with school-aged populations, preferably at the high school level
- Comfort and confidence in supervising an SLPA, supporting growth and skill development
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, and individualized education planning
- Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills, with a compassionate approach
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assessing student communication needs and designing effective intervention plans
- Delivering direct speech-language therapy services in both group and 1:1 settings
- Supervising and collaborating with an SLPA to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Engaging with families, teachers, and support staff to foster growth and progress for each student
- Documenting student progress and participating in IEP meetings
