Salary Range: $55,300 - $60,800
Description
Boston University's College of Engineering is seeking an Academic Advisor to support undergraduate student success through holistic advising, academic planning, and student services. Advisors work with approximately 250 students and help them navigate degree requirements, academic policies, and educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide holistic academic advising and educational planning
Assist students with course selection and degree requirements
Monitor academic progress and student engagement
Connect students with academic support, enrichment opportunities, and campus resources
Advise students on University and College of Engineering policies and procedures
Encourage participation in internships, research, study abroad, and experiential learning opportunities
Maintain advising records and utilize MyBU student information systems
Conduct outreach to support student success and retention
Participate in orientation, commencement, tutoring, peer mentoring, and student programming
Serve on University and College committees as needed
Participate in professional development and advisor training
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
12 years of relevant experience
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Zoom, and related software
Willingness to learn new systems, including MyBU

Compensation
Salary Range: $55,300 - $60,800 annually
Final salary determined by qualifications, experience, education, training, and internal equity considerations
