Elementary School Social Worker & Preschool Social Worker 2026-2027 School Year

The Chesterfield Township School District, a high-achieving PK-6 district located in northwestern Burlington County, is seeking one qualified and motivated School Social Worker to serve as the Elementary Social Worker and Preschool Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year.

Job Goals

To provide Child Study Team services, counseling, consultation, case management, and district-wide family support services that address students' personal, emotional, behavioral, and social needs to support successful adjustment to school and full participation in the educational program. The School Social Worker & Preschool Social Worker fosters collaborative relationships among preschool and elementary families, preschool and elementary staff, and community agencies to promote student success, engagement, and overall well-being.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate and School Social Worker Endorsement
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with families, staff, and community members
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
• Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and community resources
• Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education
• Knowledge of NJ Preschool Regulations
• Experience working with families and community health and social services agencies
• Effective problem-solving, human relations, and communication skills
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

Salary/ Benefits

• Per CTEA negotiated salary guide, based on experience and earned degree level
• Minimum $61,265 - maximum $95,155
• CST Members shall follow the 10-month school year calendar and will have additional opportunities for summer hours (case management) and evaluations (per diem).
• In addition to the base salary, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including medical, prescription, vision, dental insurance, and paid time off.
• Employees will be entered into the appropriate NJ Pension Program.
